Life and travel part 2

Image
It's been a while since my last post but I've just been so caught up being busy, which is probably no bad thing to be honest with you. Oh and I got a puppy. He's a little miniature dachshund named Pirlo and he's just the sweetest thing. I've never had a dog before but I'm not sure if it's just him ? but he's so incredibly cuddly which suits me just fine as I've always loved cuddling up to a cat in the past. He's literally catdog. Does anyone remember that show?

O.K so to continue with my last post, I definitely caught the travel bug from a young age. Whilst I did my first degree I dreamed of heading over to Europe as soon as I could. And as soon as I finished that's exactly what I did. I headed over to England and went to Spain, France, Belgium and Sweden. I fell in love with tapas and Gaudi in Barcelona, the grand architecture and absolute beauty that is Paris and Leon, the chocolate and flea market in Brussels and getting lost in Stockhol…

I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring...

Do you ever wake up and think, how on earth did I end up here? I’ve very recently just come back from a camping trip in a place called Kakadu in the Northern Territories, going down rivers spotting crocodiles and trekking up to find the most incredible lookouts. And if you’d told me I’d end up here at some point in my lifetime I’d say you were joking, however, I went to a psychic once, and she told me I’d end up in a very hot country with a little dog which is going to be very close to the truth! (Thought she was entirely barking though, especially the dog part because I’ve always loved cats but… yeah more on dogs next time #exciting).
Life is full of swings and roundabouts, some people know exactly where they're headed, but I’ve never had that affinity to a simple life. This probably explains the 38 countries my “been” app has reminded me I’ve visited, but hey a life well-travelled is a life well lived and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I’m not …

Some time alone alone

Sometimes you have to spend some time alone to find yourself again. I never really thought I'd lost myself until someone said to me, “you know what, you’ve got your sparkle back!” And then it suddenly clicked. To say there was never a period of withdrawals of company would be a lie. However, a lot of this was due to being in a city with no family and most of my support coming from the phone. Although, after some time (not too much, which was a surprise!) I became comfortable with my own company again.
Eventually, I realised that despite spending more time than ever on my own, I was actually less lonely than I was in a relationship. It’s strange, but I sometimes think when you’re with someone you become terrified of being on your own and can give up some of ourselves because you want to appease the other. It's not to say this happens to everyone.
Discovering books again has given me such a pleasure. Although I don’t have much free time being a teacher, nothing relaxes me mor…

My god, it's been a hell of a long time since I was blogging. Why did I stop? Well, a number of reasons. Firstly, I'm incredibly self-conscious! Of a few/a lot of things, especially when it comes to blogging. Having my photo taken, especially in public is downright embarrassing, and the other phobia I have is people thinking that I'm a narcissistic cretin who is totally besotted with themselves. I as well as most girls know how hard it is to be the latter given just how many complexes we have about ourselves nowadays... which is why I wore such horrendous high heels in my old blog posts (any-who I've kind-of accepted I'll never love my legs). The other reason I'd given up was due to the guilt I would feel having to ask people to take photos for me. However, now being a good few years older and my dad saying, "Hey you should have kept going with that blo…
